Baeza 
Baeza is the best town to base out of while kayaking in the Quijos Valley. You have easy access to the Cosanga River and the upper and middle reaches of the Quijos. There are taxis here as well as restaurants, hotels, and internet cafes. The 2 best places to stay are both in Baeza Viejo--Casa de Rodrigo and Gina's. Gina's is also a restaurant, so you'll be set here, and Rodrigo is a great resource for organizing shuttles.
